DRAWING FURNITURE

Assignment 1(B) - Group

In this assignment, students were to stay in the same groups as in assignment 1(A) and collectively draw a furniture of their choice. Students were allowed to choose between chairs, tables, and whiteboards available around the school. Drawings of 1 top view, 1 back view, 2 side views, and 1 cross-sectional view had to have precise measurements and drawn to scale.

PROCESS

Like in Assignment 1(A), my group consisted of Ashley, Katherine, Gordon, Cheng Howe and myself. After much contemplation, we decided to choose a drafting table as our model. I got the role of drawing the sectional view. It was tricky getting all the measurements we needed and kept having to go back and measure everything again to make sure we had the right measurements. One of the days, we decided to stay back in school together to make sure all our drawings matched each other and we ended up staying until about 2 AM. We managed to finish each of our drawings and compile them all together on one piece of A2 paper in a week and a half.

FINAL OUTCOME

REFLECTION

Although it was really rushed, I can say that this was one of the most enjoyable assignments I've ever done. It forced us to help each other as a team and taught us how to trust each other's strengths.
